Religious Education at Mary, Mother of Mercy Pastorate
At Mary, Mother of Mercy Pastorate, we are committed to fostering the faith formation of all parishioners, especially our young people. We offer a variety of religious education opportunities, with our Family Catechesis Program as a cornerstone, designed to help families grow in faith together.
Family Catechesis Program
Our Family Catechesis Program is open to families with children from kindergarten through 9th grade. This program focuses on helping families learn, live, and share their Catholic faith together. Through a combination of Community Nights, Class Nights, and at-home activities, families are invited to participate in a rich and flexible faith formation experience.
Key features of our Family Catechesis Program:
-
Community Nights: These gatherings offer fellowship with other parish families, including shared meals and dynamic presentations on the Catholic faith.
-
Class Nights: Age-appropriate instruction is provided for children, while parents engage in sessions to deepen their own understanding of the faith.
-
At-Home Activities: Families are encouraged to continue the conversation and practice the faith at home with resources provided by the program.
-
Meals Included: To make participation easier for busy families, a meal is provided at 5:30 p.m. on both Community and Class Nights.
By participating in Family Catechesis, your family will have the opportunity to:
-
Grow in faith together through prayer, discussion, and learning.
-
Connect with other families in the parish, sharing and supporting each other’s spiritual journeys.
-
Evangelize and inspire others by living out your faith in community.
We especially encourage families with children preparing for First Communion or Confirmation to take part in this program, as it complements the sacramental preparation offered by our parishes.
